Laws Of Vibrations of a Stretched String
There are three laws of transverse vibrations of a stretched string.
(i) Law off Length
(ii) Law of Tension
(iii) Law off Mass
(1) For a given string ( or wire ) under a given tension, the frequency of the string varies inversely as its vibrating length,
(2) For a uniform string of given length and material , the frequency of the string varies directly as the square root of its tension.
(3) Far a given tension and a given vibrating length of string, the frequency of vibration of the string varies inversely as the square-root of the mass per unit length of the string, that is
When I and T are constant.
