THE ADJECTIVE
Definition : The words which describe a Noun or Pronoun are called adjective.”

(5) Demonstrative Adjective

The Sentence
संरचना के अनुसार Sentences (वाक्य) तीन प्रकार के होते हैं-
1. Simple Sentence,
2. Compound Sentence, 3. Complex Sentence.
1. The Simple sentence (साधारण वाक्य):
वह वाक्य है जिसमें मुख्य क्रिया (finite verb) हो। यह शब्दों का ऐसा, समूह होता है जिससे पूर्ण भाव व्यक्त हो, as :
(i) Raman goes to office on foot daily,
(ii) The sun rises in the east.
(iii) Coal burns.
(iv) Rose is Red.
Simple Sentence चार प्रकार के होते हैं-
(a) Assertive Sentence,
(b) Interrogative Sentence,
(c) Imperative Sentence,
(d) Exclamatory Sentence.
(a) Assertive Sentences (साधारण या निश्चयात्मक वाक्य) : ऐसा वाक्य जिसमें साधारण कथन प्रस्तुत किया जाए,
Assertive Sentence कहलाता है। इसे Statement भी कहते हैं;
(i) The Sun sets in the west. (ii) The earth is round.
(iii) Socrates was not coward. (iv) The thief was not caught.
उपर्युक्त वाक्यों में वाक्य 1 और 2 Positive (Affirmative) हैं और वाक्य 3 तथा 4 Negative हैं। स्पष्ट है कि Assertive
Sentences दो प्रकार के होते हैं-
(i) Positive (Affirmative) Sentences, (ii) Negative Sentences.
Affirmative Sentences (स्वीकारात्मक वाक्य) से किसी कार्य के होने की सूचना मिलती है;
I have done my work.
Negative Sentences (नकारात्मक वाक्य) से किसी कार्य के न होने की सूचना मिलती है;
Pritha will not play today.
(b) Interrogative Sentences (प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य) से प्रश्न (Question) प्रकट होता है,
Will you help me ?
Where do you live now?
