What should be the minimum cash reserve ratio that a bank should maintain has been prescribed by governments in certain countries. The bank has to maintain the cash reserve ratio as prescribed by law. 


For example, the statutory obligation in India is to maintain the cash reserve ratio between 3 to 15 per cent as fixed by RBI from time to time.
